Welcome New District Staff!

The District has recently added two new staff members to our team! Both will be working within the Chapter 102 Erosion & Sediment Control and Chapter 105 Waterways & Wetlands programs. They look forward to helping our community with technical assistance and permit applications and have introduced themselves below.

Nick Kremp, Head Resource Conservationist

Nick grew up in Newton Township and has been exploring the fields and forests of northeast PA since he can remember. Inspired by the diversity of nature he was raised with, Nick majored in Biology at Penn State. Always fascinated with invasive species, he worked for the US Department of Agriculture’s Plant Protection and Quarantine as a survey technician, first in Pennsylvania’s Spotted Lanternfly program and later in the Asian Longhorned Beetle program centered in Worcester, Massachusetts. Most recently, he was the Conservation Agent for Leominster, Massachusetts where he worked with and on behalf of that City’s conservation commission on issues related to wetland protection, permitting, enforcement, and public outreach. After several years of moving, Nick has recently moved back to the area with his wife Kiernan and their three cats to be closer to family. Nick looks forward to bringing the technical skills and knowledge he’s gained over this time back to the region where he first learned to love nature. In his free time, Nick enjoy hiking, foraging for mushrooms and plants, gardening, watching documentaries, and traveling.
