NTHA is holding a “Spotted Lanternfly Informational Meeting” on Tuesday, March 6th in Wysox, PA from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
The Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) is a serious threat to the general public, the forest products industry, as well as all commerce in Pennsylvania. There is currently a quarantine in place for 13 counties in southeastern Pennsylvania to try to stop the movement of the invasive pest. This pest is a native of China, and could possibly work its way into our region. This destructive insect feeds on a variety of over 70 species of plants including hardwood trees, grapes, apples, peaches, ailanthus, hops and certain ornamental plants.
This is an educational meeting for the general public and members of the forest product industry. The event is free, but please RSVP online at nthardwoods.org
