Have you ever seen a stream that looks chocolate-milk color?
That’s because sediment and other non-point source pollutants, or pollutants that come from a wide area that’s difficult to pin-point, travel with excess stormwater after precipitation events through our watershed and into nearby surface waters.
Luckily, there are steps we can take to prevent non-point source pollutants from entering our environment and manage the stormwater that allows them to spread.
Join the District for an educational program to learn more about non-point source pollution, stormwater, watersheds, and ways that we can help- including taking steps like installing a rain barrel to capture excess stormwater.
Due to limited capacity, space is limited, and registration is required. We encourage early registration to secure your spot at
https://bit.ly/pccdbarrels
. A free rain barrel will be distributed to the first 18 Pike County households to register for and attend the full program!
Financial and other support for this project is provided by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc. through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
