The Envirothon® is an environmental and natural resources competition for high school students across the United States, Canada, China, and Singapore. It challenges students' critical thinking skills and their ability to create innovative solutions to sustainability challenges occurring in the world today.

Co-hosted by the Pike County Conservation District (PCCD) and Wayne Conservation District (WCD), the Pike/Wayne Envirothon brings together high school students from different districts across the area for a one-day hands-on competition that tests their knowledge in five diverse topics, ranging from forestry and wildlife to soils, aquatics, and current environmental issues.

Each team of five students and their advisor spends months preparing for the event, gaining expertise in the 5 topics and building teamwork skills. On event day, they not only compete but also connect with professionals from organizations like the PA Game Commission, DCNR, NRCS, and more, which help foster a life-long appreciation of our natural resources and introduce them to a wide variety of careers in conservation and environmental science. After the Pike/Wayne Envirothon, the winning team from each county gets to attend the state Envirothon.

More Than a Competition

Envirothon isn't just a fun competition, it is a chance for students from different schools and counties to form new connections and foster their shared love of the environmental sciences.
